About this role
To effectively deliver and assess the Building, Construction and Allied Trades Skills (BCATS) Level 2 programme, ensuring tauira (students) achieve successful educational outcomes in alignment with NZQA requirements and the standards specified by Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council (WDC).
Role details:
Title: Kaiako (Tutor/Teacher) – BCATS Level 2
Role: Fixed Term Full Time Position
Duration: 18 weeks
Location: Waitomo/Te Kuiti
Hours: 37.5 hour week
Days: Monday – Friday
As Kaiako (Tutor/Teacher) – BCATS Level 2, you will:
Prepare, deliver, and evaluate engaging and effective teaching programmes aligned with BCATS Level 2.
Conduct assessments in accordance with NZQA unit standards and BCITO moderation guidelines.
Maintain accurate assessment records and tauira progress documentation, complying with reporting requirements.
Ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance in all practical and theoretical teaching environments.
About you:
We are looking for someone who has the following:
Relevant industry qualifications and experience in building and construction.
Unit Standard 4098 (Use standards to assess candidate performance) or equivalent experience in competency-based assessment.
Demonstrated ability to comply with safety, health, and regulatory frameworks applicable to construction and education.
